So you are looking to add a puppy to your family and feel that a Spirited Shepherd puppy would be a great fit...
Fill out my puppy application to be on my waiting list for an upcoming litter. If you are open to color/gender your puppy wait time will be much less than if you are set on a specific color and/or gender. The right puppy might not be the color you originally wanted.
NEW AS OF JULY 16, 2022 - Once your application is approved, we require a $25 nonrefundable wait list fee. This holds your place until you pick your puppy and does not go towards your final purchase price. This shows that you are serious about developing a relationship with me as your breeder. On any litter I reserve first pick as the breeder.
We breed according to the Australian Shepherd standard which means we dock the tails on our puppies between 3-5 days of age. I also have front dewclaws removed at that time. We will not dock a puppy that is not thriving.
I maintain a master waiting list and once a puppy count x-ray is done I ask families interested in that litter to let me know so they can be moved to that litter's list. I keep families in the order in which they applied.
Deposits are $200 and are applied to the final cost of the puppy. I accept Check, PayPal, Cash or Venmo. I do offer discounts to military (active duty and retired) and law enforcement.
I temperament test puppies around 7 weeks of age using the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test or Badass Breeder Puppy Evaluation. This helps us determine what kind of home each puppy would do best in. Temperament testing is something you can come watch! After testing I post the results and let deposit holders know how each puppy scored. If there is a particular puppy that a family wants that is not the right fit we will not allow the placement of that puppy. Instead they can choose from suitable puppies or wait for the next litter. This method has worked for us in the past and most people appreciate the effort we put into making the right match. I do want people to be able to select their puppy as I feel that is an important step in bringing a new puppy home, but I need to make sure the puppy will be happy and thrive in that home!
Puppies go home at 9 weeks of age. They receive a dhpp vaccine at 6 and 8 weeks and a bordetella vaccine at 8 weeks. We also microchip them and have a veterinary physical exam performed along with a fecal check. Puppies also have their eyes examined by a veterinary opthalmologist at MedVet .
We place pet puppies on contracts with a 2 year health guarantee. We stand behind our puppies and you will have our support for the lifetime of your puppy. We have many repeat buyers amongst our puppy families and always love receiving updates!
